Do You Go Geocaching?

We started geocaching when our kids were little.  With four small children, it was hard to find things to do that didn't break the bank.  Geocaching was the answer.  It got us outside, all together and made a day of free fun.  -Well, free all except for the gas to drive to the spots.  We'd pack a picnik lunch and off we'd go!

Being little, the kids thought it was like a modern day treasure hunt and had a blast.  They'd take turns on who got to open (or help open) the box once it was found.  They'd take turns picking the "treasure" out of the box, then take turns on who put our "treasure" back into the box.

Now that we only have 2 children left at home, and their in their late teens they don't really like to go with us anymore.  The busy schedule that teens nowadays adhere to, plus "needing" time to hang out with their friends, consumes all extra time they may have.  My husband and myself though, still enjoy heading out on a Saturday or Sunday for a day of treasure hunting!

While looking for deals today, I came across a good little Geocaching GPS Unit on sale.  It made me start thinking about all of our geocaches through the years and prompted this post.  If you've never been geocaching, it's an actvity that you may want to try this spring or summer.  -Although avid geocachers even go throughout the winter!  There are hundreds of thousands of hidden caches throughout the U.S., and we find the ones we want to "hunt", by using the website: .

Here's a good geocaching GPS unit that's 25% off.

If you have any questions about geocaching, feel free to leave me a comment on this post, and I'll do what I can to answer it for you!  If you're a fellow geocacher, what's the most unique hunt you've been on?
